A garden built by the children for the children.”
The children of York are planting and growing hope. Hope Street Learning Lab was established in 2013 as the first of its kind urban outdoor learning lab for the children of York, Pennsylvania. Over the last six years, Hope Street Learning Lab has educated over 2,000 students, and volunteers per year in the areas of entrepreneurship, agriculture, and civic duty.
Hope Street Learning Lab had a devastating blow two years ago when a wind storm destroyed both sheds and the greenhouse. It is time to rebuild the greenhouse, beautify the grounds, and prepare for the children and volunteers who will be sending their summer with us. Your continued help is necessary to change the health outcomes of our children, and reduce the diseases plaguing our community such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity and other life-threatening illnesses that take to many lives in York.
